DONATE ONLINE

You can make an online contribution on our secure server from your checking account, savings account, credit card or debit card. You can make a general donation to support Urban Foundation operations, or identify a particular program fund you’d like to support by typing it in the box provided next to the dollar amount on the general donation line. Urban Foundation program funds you can specify include:

Kid City South Park – The Urban Foundation’s year-round academic development and leadership development youth program, co-sponsored with the First United Methodist Church of Los Angeles.

Seeds of Hope – The small grants program for local faith-based community projects that funds grassroots social service, community health, and advocacy projects, with a primary focus on children and youth.

James & Dorothy Lawson Justice Fund – A tribute fund for local community-building and advocacy projects that honors the work of two Civil Rights pioneers who for decades have dedicated themselves to nonviolent struggle as a means to create a society of equality and justice for all.

You can also use the online donation option to support a particular Urban Foundation event (like our fundraising dinner, for example) by typing the specific name of the event into the box next to the dollar amount on the general donation line.

DONATE BY MAIL

If you would rather write a check and send your gift in the mail, please make your check payable to the "Los Angeles United Methodist Urban Foundation" and write the name of the program fund or event (if applicable) in the check memo line. If you wish to donate specifically to the James & Dorothy Lawson Justice Fund, do not make your check payable to the Urban Foundation. Instead make it out to the “James and Dorothy Lawson Justice Fund.”

If you would prefer to make an in-kind gift that can be passed on to our grantees, we can always use:

• Gift cards to grocery stores for food supplies (Vons, Target, Food for Less)
• Gift cards to thank program volunteers (e.g., Target, McDonalds, movie theatres, or Starbucks)

DONATE YOUR CAR

If you would like to donate your car, our partner Riteway Charity Services will pick-up the car, complete the DMV paperwork, and provide a receipt.

By designating the Los Angeles United Methodist Urban Foundation as the recipient, you ensure that we will receive a donation equaling the net proceeds of the sale of the car.
