This holiday season, please consider a generous donation to our end of the year campaign, or become a monthly donor and support Urban Foundation programs for youth and young adults.
In 2014, the Urban Foundation's Kid City program offered college-knowledge classes, math tutoring (including calculus, physics, and statistics), SAT study groups, financial literacy workshops, personal statement consultations, music lessons, band practice, one-on-one mentoring for high school seniors, dance lessons, and other programs. Phew! We couldn’t have done it all by ourselves. Our small staff, dedicated volunteers and donors like you make it possible all year long.
In addition, with 100 kids in 20 universities and colleges, the Urban Foundation and Kid City are piloting a college persistence program, which connects students to programs, churches, and campus ministers that provide a "safety net" and a home away from home. Between us, we will ensure that each student completes their education ready to give back to their communities.
Also in 2014, the Urban Foundation encouraged other faith-based youth leadership and college access programs with its "Seeds of Hope" grants, made possible in part by the Dorothy and James Lawson Justice Fund.
What better way to celebrate the holidays than with a one-time gift to support these amazing young people?
Or, spread the joy throughout entire year and help us plan even bigger and better things.
Or, send a check to: The Los Angeles United Methodist Urban Foundation, 714 W. Olympic Blvd., Suite 922, Los Angeles, California, 90015
All donations are, of course, tax deductible and very much appreciated.
